West Bromwich Albion will provide training grounds and camps for national teams if the bid is successful, as would Birmingham City.

Villa Park would be the venue for games. Brummie comic Jasper Carrott was among celebrities who met with city politicians to launch the bid in Victoria Square.

He was joined by Birmingham City FC players Cameron Jerome and Martin Taylor along with former Villa player, Ian Taylor.
