Inside Boulton Paul

The Boulton Paul Heritage Museum will be throwing open its doors again next month.

Aeroplanes, gliders and weapons spanning over 80 years of Wolverhampton's aviation history are going on show on October 28.

It will be a celebration of the work of Boulton Paul Aircraft Ltd, which played a key role in aircraft building in both world wars. The event at Smiths Aerospace in Wobaston Road, Fordhouses, will allow visitors to browse through eight decades of the city's flying heritage.

A full-scale model of the Boulton Paul Defiant which fought over Dunkirk and in the Battle of Britain will be on show. A part restoration of the Boulton Paul Balliol, the last piston-engine advanced trainer in the RAF, will also be going on display alongside the P6 bi-plane, an experimental aircraft built during World War One.
