A special souvenir t-shirt of a whirlwind which wrecked Black Country homes and gardens is going down a storm – with the slogan "I Survived the Netherton Tornado 2007".

The t-shirt is being sold by business partners Steven Pitts and Warren Smith, who witnessed the tornado first-hand from their Cradley Road premises in Netherton.

The duo started making t-shirts six weeks ago paying homage to Black Country sayings and traditions, and have now added the tornado top to their stock.

They are expecting a flood of interest after the reaction from pub regulars in the Elephant & Castle in Cradley Road, where Steven modelled it for the first time over the weekend.

Steven, aged 27, said: "It is not designed to cause offence and I hope it won't – the tornado was just unbelievable, a freak of nature, and we wanted to put a t-shirt out there to mark its coming and going."
