Isaac Fletcher nets late Shrewsbury winner as Eastleigh exit FA Cup

Will Randall had cancelled out George Lloyd’s first-half penalty for Salop.
League Two Shrewsbury booked their place in the second round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over National League Eastleigh at the Silverlake Stadium.
The Shrews had been pegged back by Will Randall after George Lloyd’s first-half penalty, before substitute Isaac Fletcher netted an 87th-minute winner.
Lloyd opened the scoring from the spot on 38 minutes after Kian McMahon-Brown had been tripped by Jake Caprice, despite Eastleigh’s claims the foul was outside the penalty area.
Lloyd had already forced Eastleigh goalkeeper Nick Townsend into a smart stop to his right three minutes into proceedings.
The hosts have only lost one of their eight home National League games this season – and also came from two goals behind to beat Brentwood in the fourth qualifying round – and got their noses level with 11 minutes remaining.
Josh Laqeretabua and Max Dickov combined down the right and the latter’s low cross was swept home by substitute Randall.
Salop had reached the third round in eight of the last nine seasons, and they were not to be denied by their lower-league opponents.
Tom Sang crossed for substitute Fletcher, who couldn’t miss as he tapped home the winner with three minutes left to send the Shrews through.
