Lewis Payne and Ellis Taylor struck for the visitors.

Harrogate fought back from 2-0 down at half-time to clinch a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw at National League rivals Forest Green.

The home side swept into an early lead when Neil Kengni rifled home a half-cleared cross and they went close to a second soon after as Tate Campbell’s effort hit a post.

Harrogate twice hit the woodwork in the first period as Ellis Taylor’s shot struck the crossbar and Rovers goalkeeper Luke McNicholas’ punch from a corner looped back on to the woodwork.

Both sides continued to create chances before Kyle Kelly struck Rovers’ second in first-half stoppage time, pouncing on a rebound after Bryan Ifeanyi’s shot was deflected.

But Harrogate hit back after the break with two goals in the space of four minutes through Lewis Payne and Taylor before visiting stopper Luke Hutchinson tipped Jayden Clarke’s late free-kick on to a post.
