Wolves handed double boost as duo near return
Boss Cesar Peixoto is close to having some key players back.
Wolves have been handed a boost with both Kieran Trippier and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde in contention for Sunday’s trip to Sheffield United.
Neither player will be fit enough to start at Bramall Lane, though both are expected to be on the bench after returning to training.
Right-back Trippier has been missing for nearly a month since suffering a knee injury in the opening Championship fixture against Blackburn.
Midfielder Bellegarde has not featured at all this season due to a hamstring injury but has been back in training since last week.
“Kieran Trippier has started training but is not fit enough to start the game,” explained boss Cesar Peixoto. “We are going to see if he has the capacity to go with us and take some minutes.
“Bellegarde is the second week with us and is better. He can be an option for the game.”
In a further boost, winger Rafiki Said is due to return to training next week as he nears recovery from a knee injury sustained in the opening pre-season friendly at Maidenhead.
New signing Bertrand Traore is unlikely to feature as he builds fitness, having only joined as a free agent earlier this week.
Yerson Mosquera faces another few weeks out with an ankle injury.
