Wolves attacker closing in on loan move

Wolves forward Fer Lopez is closing in on a return to former club Celta Vigo on loan, the Express & Star understands.

The Spanish side have made a formal offer to Wolves to take the 21-year-old until the end of the season and a loan is expected to be agreed, without an option to buy.

Celta showed interest in resigning Lopez earlier in the window and Wolves were assessing their options as they considered sending him to the Championship, but a return to Spain is now likely to get Lopez more game time.

Lopez made the move from Celta to Wolves in a £19.5million move in the summer but has struggled to hold down a place in the team, making just 12 appearances in all competitions and two Premier League starts.

Wolves were lining him up for a loan move, as previously reported by the Express & Star, and that is now expected to be agreed.
