Steve Bruce insists he's not bitter after job snub
Steve Bruce today insisted he has moved on from his Wolves job snub and isn't out to settle a score.
The Hull boss faces Wolves tonight for the first time since they pulled out of a move to make him Mick McCarthy's successor in February.
He was interviewed for the post and claimed he was offered the job before the Wolves board opted to appoint Terry Connor instead.
But the former Birmingham manager, who has guided the Tigers to fifth in the Championship this season, said there is no ill feeling. He said: "It was a strange one but that is football sometimes.
"The job was mine but then the offer was withdrawn a few hours later. To me, it is in the past and that's that – although what I will say is just how much I am enjoying it at Hull.
"When I came here in the summer, it was a big call as I had spent most of the last 10 years in the Premier League.
"But my enthusiasm is as high as it has ever been. This is a great club and I am enjoying the challenge of getting us into the Premier League.
"You can see a little bit of momentum building for us but we'll not get ahead of ourselves. You can soon lose a couple and be back at square one.
"We've shown that we can pick up three points when we're not at our best and that's a good sign in any division.
"I think we've been quietly consistent all season. In 14 games this season I feel we've acquitted ourselves very well and I hope we can continue that."
