We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves were apparently interested in signing defender Sol Bamba from Championship rivals Leeds United, before lining up a deal for Mike Williamson.

Ex-Wolves loanee Williamson is on the verge of rejoining the club from Newcastle for £250,000 and is set to put pen to paper on an 18-month deal.

The 32-year-old is slightly older than Bamba, 31, with the Ivory Coast international currently out-of-favour at Elland Road. Leeds want £2million to sell him, though.

WEST BROM

West Brom striker Saido Berahino will be the subject of a 'take it or leave it' £17m offer from Tottenham Hostpur by the end of Monday's transfer deadline.

Spurs are still interested in the 22-year-old, having made three bids for him in the last window with the player now falling out of Albion's first-team plans.

But they are unwilling to meet the £20m-plus asking price for the unsettled forward, who has already been told he won't be allowed to join Newcastle United.

ASTON VILLA

Former first-choice goalkeeper Brad Guzan and Aston Villa's longest-serving player Gabby Agbonlahor could be heading out on loan.

American shot-stopper Guzan, who has lost his place to veteran Mark Bunn, will be allowed to leave as soon as another custodian arrives.

Villa have lined up Croatian Lovre Kalinic for £4.9m from Hajduk Split in his homeland, but are having problems with his work permit.

Agbonlahor could also be heading overseas in a shock temporary switch to Turkish club Kayserispor, having been told he can move on.

The 29-year-old has spent his entire career with the claret and blues, having made his debut in March 2006, but hasn't played since December 5.

The forward has spent his entire career at Villa - making his debut win March 2006, scoring in a loss to Everton, but his time now looks to be nearing the end.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
