Red Devils consider Wolves keeper swoop
Sam Johnstone could be offered a surprise route out of Wolves by Manchester United.
The 33-year-old is expected to leave Molineux this summer, with Wolves looking to revamp their goalkeeping department following relegation to the Championship.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, United are considering a move for their former youth team star, as they seek cover for No.1 Senne Lammens.
Johnstone joined United’s academy as a youngster and had loan spells at Walsall and Villa before joining Albion for an initial £6.5million in 2018.
He made 167 appearances in four years with the Baggies and then spent two seasons with Crystal Palace, before joining Wolves in 2024.
Johnstone has made just 27 appearances in two years at Molineux, missing the final months of this season with a shoulder injury.
Italian giants continue to eye Villa keeper

Another goalkeeper whose future is uncertain this summer is Emi Martinez.
The Villa star is being eyed by Juventus after their hopes of signing primary target Alisson faded.
Martinez appeared on the brink of leaving Villa last summer but an anticipated move to Manchester United never materialised.
The 33-year-old went on to play a key role in Unai Emery’s team winning the Europa League and securing a top-four Premier League finish.
Though Villa are not actively looking to sell, a decent offer could make them reconsider. Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport say Juventus are monitoring the situation.
No movement is expected until after the World Cup, where Martinez is aiming to help Argentina defend their title.
