Wolves' £35m flop who scored just five goals linked with possible Premier League return

The striker scored just five goals for Wolves having signed for a club record fee.

Fabio Silva’s Wolves nightmare finally came to a permanent end last summer - with the striker departing for Borussia Dortmund.

The 23-year-old forward signed for Wolves for what was then a club record fee back in 2020.

But he never hit the mark at Molineux.

He turned out 72 times for Wolves but only 29 of them were starts - with the striker scoring just five goals in all competitions.

Silva ended up spending more time away from Molineux than actually at the club - with his final loan switch being the most fruitful.

He scored ten league goals in 24 games for La Liga side Las Palmas last season - and that prompted Silva to finally depart the club on a permanent basis.

Having signed for £35m the club recouped £19.5 plus add ons from German side Dortmund last summer - with his Wolves spell coming to an end.

But nine months later - it has been claimed that Silva may be on the move again after a frustrating time in Germany.

In total he has scored just three goals in 38 games for the Bundesliga side - and has started just seven league games.

A lot of his frustrations in Germany are down to the form of Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy, who has netted 21 times in 45 appearances .

Now according to reports in Germany, Dortmund could try and cash in on Silva after a frustrating first nine months away from Wolves.

The reports state Silva is ‘considering his future’, and that several Premier League clubs and La Liga clubs have shown interest in the striker.

It has also said that the interest in Spain stems from his successful loan period at Las Palmas.
