Walter Zenga insists Wolves didn't deserve Norwich defeat

Wolves boss Walter Zenga insisted his team were unlucky losers after they lost 2-1 at home to Norwich.

An early goal from Cameron Jerome and a stunning second from Robbie Brady put Alex Neil's team in charge.

David Edwards made the last 10 minutes interesting after converting a header, but Wolves couldn't find a late equaliser.

Norwich had more shots and more possession than Wolves and enjoyed most of the play, particularly in the first half.

Speaking to the media after the game, a prickly Zenga said: "I think that we didn't deserve to lose the game.

"In my opinion we deserved more than zero (points)."

Was the second half better than the first? "I think that we played a very good game for all of the game.

"There are some problems that we have but we played a good game."

Is there a reason for Wolves' consistency in recent weeks? "Yes..football. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you draw. There is not a reason.

"There is a result. I think our performance today was very good."

Of the difference between the two teams, Zenga said: "They scored two goals and we scored only one.

""Don't forget that before it was 2-0 we had a great chance to score with Dicko and probably the game could have changed.

"There were other situations we created. They (Norwich) had a chance to kill the game on 2-0, and we had a chance to open the game with 30 minutes left.

"But we didn't score."

The one big positive of the evening was the long-awaited return of striker Nouha Dicko, who made his first appearance since August 29 last year.

The striker came off the bench to a rapturous ovation and spurned a great chance to score just a few minutes later.

Zenga said of the popular forward: "Dicko is an important player for us and we have to take care of him because he showed that he can do a good job for us.

"His last game was one year and two months ago. We're happy for him. It would have been amazing if he had scored. But unfortunately he didn't."
