On-loan Wolves striker Joe Mason scores first MLS goal for Colorado Rapids - WATCH

On-loan Wolves striker Joe Mason netted his first MLS goal for Colorado Rapids, in his first appearance for his new club since leaving Molineux.

The 26-year-old, who spent the first part of this season on-loan at Burton, joined the Denver-based team in February - linking up with former Wolves midfielder Jack Price at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Scoring just seven goals in 39 appearances for Wolves, it took Mason just eight minutes to open his account for the Rapids as they drew 2-2 in their home opener against Sporting Kansas City, who boast the likes of ex-Derby forward Johnny Russell on their books.

Mason managed to squeeze in his side's second goal of the game home after latching onto a long ball, before jinking in the box and seeing his deflected effort bounce in.

Former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard denied the visitors several times before two goals in the second half forced a draw. Mason played 64 minutes, whilst Price played all 90 minutes of the encounter.

It's the first point for the club this season, after losing their season opening clash with New England Revolution 2-1. They sit 10th in the Western Conference, but have two games in hand over Kansas City, who top the standings with seven points from four games.
