How Wolves fans reacted to season ticket price cuts after relegation
Wolves have announced a reduction in season ticket prices for next season following their relegation.
Wolves fans have reacted to the announcement that all supporters will receive a minimum 25 per cent reduction on season tickets for next season.
The club, today, released its season ticket prices for all age groups following confirmation of its relegation to the Championship.
Wolves had already announced a significant reduction in youth season tickets as part of a restructuring of the age bands. This will see some under-18 supporters receive a 53 per cent reduction compared to the current Premier League campaign.
Interim chairman Nathan Shi said the move was designed to “ensure more supporters, especially young fans and families, can experience Molineux and feel part of the club.”
In response, popular Wolves social media page The South Bank said: “Fair play to Nathan Shi for keeping to his word about reducing prices for supporters.
“The club deserves credit particularly for looking at the concession prices, making attending games cheaper for younger fans and families. We all know Jeff Shi totally missed the point of recognising longstanding fans (pensioners) and cultivating the next generation of supporters.
“The next thing is to recruit the appropriate players to get us back up at the first time of asking. So we can be in the top flight for our 150th anniversary in 2027!”
Adults sitting in the Stan Cullis, Sir Jack Hayward, the lower sections and wing areas of the Billy Wright Stand will all see a 25 per cent reduction, with the cheapest adult tickets behind the goals priced at £549.
Fans in the Steve Bull Stand will see the largest reduction for adults at 28 per cent, with prices dropping to £599.
The most expensive season ticket next season will be in the centre of the Billy Wright Stand, costing £699 after a 26 per cent reduction.
Over-65s will see prices fall by between 27 and 33 per cent depending on location, with the cheapest tickets £384 behind the goals and the most expensive £489 in the centre of the Billy Wright Stand.
Another supporter commented online: “Great decision. You’ll get bums in seats now, and more affordable for the working class to be able to bring the next generation of supports in.”
Supporter Alan Bowen said: “Fair play. Hopefully the match day tickets are reduced.”
Craig Hughes added: “Well done Wolves credit where its due here promised a drop in prices
Andy Morris is also looking forward to the new campaign, saying: “Not too bad for next season, looking forward to it.”
