Dave Edwards: What a brilliant start to the year for Wolves

I don't think I've smiled as much at a football match in a long time.

What a brilliant end to 2025 and start to the new year for Wolves, picking up a point at Manchester United with a really good performance, and one that probably deserved three points.

The performances have been improving of late. The away performances have all been very good under Rob Edwards, they have not always picked up the results, but the performances have been very good, and usually results will come when performances are like that, like at Manchester United.

It has been the home games which have been a real problem - being able to try and find a way to have some attacking intent like they do away.

At the home games since Rob has come in, Wolves have been very well organised. They have stayed in the game until around the hour mark but just lacked a little bit of ingenuity, guile, something to really get the fans behind them. But taking the lead in the game and starting fast really helps and that's exactly what they did against West Ham.

It was a brilliant match and the first-half was so enjoyable. I went to watch the game with my son and I don't think I've smiled that much at a football match for a long time.

I think the stadium really appreciated it, they really got behind the team. The fans need something to go off, and they haven't had that in recent weeks, but they did against West Ham.
