Wolves v Brighton: Inside track on the Seagulls
Brighton visit Molineux tomorrow desperately in need of points to keep their heads above water at the bottom of the Premier League.
We spoke to Adam Stenning of the Brighton Argus to get the inside track on the struggling Seagulls.
Brighton are still in the relegation mix, are you surprised about that at all?
Yes and no. Given the quality of the players at their disposal, they should be in a slighter better position than they are now.
However, given the fact they have not been clinical this season, I am not surprised they are down there.
Brighton have put in some really good performances this season, but the one thing that has let them down is the final bit. Neal Maupay has done well to score eight goals in his debut Premier League season, but had he been more clinical he could have 13-15 goals to his name.
There are fine margins between staying up and going down, and if they can be more clinical in their final run in they will be fine.

How come the wins have dried up over the past few weeks?
I think that is partly down to what I just mentioned in being clinical in front of goal.
Also I think it is down to conceding goals – Brighton have conceded the first goal in their last five games, which means they are always on the back foot and needing to score to get back on level terms.
If they can stop conceding goals then they can at worse get a draw.
With points so valuable at the minute, this needs to happen sooner rather than later.

With Graham Potter at the helm, instead of the seemingly more pragmatic Chris Hughton, are you confident they will stay up?
I am still pretty confident Brighton will be able to stay up. They certainly have the quality and the experience to stay up, but it is all about getting results now.
With the likes of Wolves, Arsenal, Leicester and Manchester United in their next four games, they are not expected to get results. However, that could work in Brighton’s favour.
