The retired defender, who made more than 200 appearances for the club, was part of the Wolves side that won promotion in 2009 and then went on to retain it’s top flight status the following year.

Earlier this week, goalkeeper John Ruddy said he believes the Molineux men have the potential to be ‘massive force’ in European football.

But while Craddock is excited for the future, he believes it will take time before the team are competing near the top of the Premier League.

“It’s been absolutely fantastic watching the team this season,” he said.

“It’s not done yet but I’d be amazed if they aren’t in the Premier League next season.

“Without doubt it’s the best league in the world to be in and I think Wolves will do very well in it.

“The Championship is very physical but the top flight is all about pace and how quickly you move the ball.

“With the players Wolves have, they will adapt quickly so they’ll be confident about their chances.

“When any team goes up the first aim is to stay up. But it’s hard to see a weakness in this side so I think they will be aiming higher.”

Despite Ruddy’s predication’s, Craddock believes it will take time before Wolves are competing for a place in Europe.

“The good news is that the club has the money to compete,” he said.

“It’s easy to get excited when you spent £15million on a player in the Premier League.

“The problem is every club is doing the same so really it’s what you have to do.

“It will take time before you can realistically compete in the top half of the table on a regular basis.

“I think the fans understand that. The first aim next season will be to stay up.

“And then it’s all about building from there. It’s going to be very exciting to watch.”
