James Morrison confirms single West Brom change after midweek win

Team news has been confirmed at The Hawthorns.

Albion boss James Morrison has made a single change for Saturday afternoon’s home clash against Blackburn.

The hosts’ sole alteration is up front, with striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan selected to replace midfielder Harry Whitwell, who was quiet in the win at Wrexham in midweek.

Morrison, who lines up against his former Baggies boss Tony Mowbray, resisted the opportunity to include Wrexham match-winner Aune Heggebo from the starting line-up.

The home boss has retained frontman Barney Stewart in a bid to give the promising Scot more time to develop.

It remains to be seen whether Morgan comes in as a frontman with Stewart, or takes a role towards the left with Rabby Nzingoula keeping his more offensive position.

Nzingoula was bright in the final third in north Wales.

Elsewhere Morrison’s side is the same, with the backline - who were breached by Keiffer Moore’s rocket in the midweek win - retained. Nat Phillips made a positive influence from the bench at Wrexham, but Morrison has stuck with George Campbell and Chris Mepham.

Jayson Molumby and Toby Collyer continue in the heart of midfield, with Ousmane Diakite a sub.
