Fulham 2 Wolves 0 – player ratings
Wolves correspondent Tim Spiers rates the players after the 2-0 defeat at Fulham.
John Ruddy
Being the fierce self critic that he is Ruddy will probably feel he could have done better on both goals, but neither could be blamed on him. 6/10
Ryan Bennett
Desperately poor clearance which led to the opening goal. Occasionally struggled against Sessegnon but he generally held his own. 5/10
Conor Coady
A real mixed bag. Couldn’t cope with the physical Mitrovic and was turned by the Serb for both goals. On the flip side he made a number of important interceptions and clearances and then set up the best chance of the game for Wolves when releasing Afobe with a great pass. Indeed he was a positive presence when moved into midfield. Never gave up. 6/10
Willy Boly
Too relaxed for his own good at times. Fulham were frantic and intense and Boly typified the fact that Wolves weren’t those things. 5/10
Matt Doherty
One great ball across the face of goal, but there was no one there to finish it off. Otherwise he was jaded but, again, he helped keep Sessegnon quiet. 6/10
Alfred N’Diaye
Just constantly gave the ball away. Wolves lost the midfield battle and N’Diaye didn’t impose himself on the game. 4/10
Romain Saiss
A big ask to replace Neves and Saiss is a very different player, but this was his worst performance of the season. Tried to exert control but he was outfought by Fulham’s impressive midfield. 4/10
Barry Douglas
An afternoon to forget for Douglas who was perhaps lucky to not be sent off. 5/10
Helder Costa
Started with good intentions but he was regularly bullied off the ball by Tim Ream and was indecisive in front of goal. Given the hook in the second half. 4/10
Leo Bonatini
Some decent hold up play but as far as a threat in the Fulham third goes he was absolutely anonymous. 4/10
Ivan Cavaleiro
Wolves’ standout player, especially in terms of effort and imagination. Tried to take the game by the scruff of the neck and run at Fulham, but he often had no help from his team mates. Fired off a couple of decent shots and, for once, he lasted the whole 90 minutes. Is arguably Wolves’ most important player right now. 7/10
Substitutes

How on earth did he miss that chance? It was easier to score. 5/10

No impact from the youngster. 5/10
Benik Afobe (for Saiss, 76)
Should have taken his shot earlier. 5/10
