Nuno proud of Wolves players – but wanted win
Nuno Espirito Santo was pleased with his team's attitude but not the result as Wolves drew 1-1 at Preston.
Helder Costa's equaliser earned Wolves a point after Alan Browne had put the hosts in front.
In between the goals John Welsh was sent off for Preston but Wolves couldn't find a winner against 10 men in the final half an hour.
Nuno said: "It was a tough game, a physical game.
"Everybody knew Preston, their form (one defeat in 16) says a lot. We have to give credit to them. After the red card they dropped and defended well.
"The boys, everybody thought we were closest to winning the game. Playing against one man less requires a different approach.
"I think we did well - we created enough chances to win it. But we had to have a different approach, it's something we have to look at.
"Same as we have to look at set pieces because we were in control of the game and we conceded from a set piece.
"I'm not happy with the result, we prepare every game to win.
"We have to take a look at what happened today and get better for next time.
"I'm very proud of the attitude of the team and the work of the boys. We were relentless - this is the word, relentless.
"This is how we have to be every game."
Costa's goal was his second in two matches.
Nuno added: "It was a good goal and the reaction we have to have on every occasion.
"It was clear we were the better team but we have to give credit to Preston.
"Preston is a very good team, a good manager, they are organised and defensively work every well.
"It's a moment that requires maximum concentration and focus.
"We have to keep improving on that."
Wolves took 5,600 fans to Deepdale and the Wolves head coach was appreciative of the support.
He said: "A word for the fans, they were incredible. We came to win but seeing them for the boys was very important."
