Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Ivan Cavaleiro were on the scoresheet as Wolves restored their 11-point lead at the top of the Championship.

Neves' 25-yard strike and Jota's tidy finish from a magnificent team move were up there with the best goals Wolves have scored this season.

And Nuno said: "The early (Neves) goal changes everything. It was a fantastic goal, and the second one was really good as well.

"Our fans are happy today because they've seen really good football and really good goals from a team that fights and works hard.

"It was a very good performance from the boys, in all aspects of the game - defensively, offensively, with and without the ball.

"We knew it would be a tough challenge against a team that beat us in the reverse fixture, but we prepared well and were well organised and played some good football. This showed the character of the team.

"We always try to improve, and I'm really happy with that.

"The fans want to see good things, and it's our job to reward the support of our fans.

"The boys in the team, the boys outside the team – they all work hard together and enjoy their football together. They make each other better because of how hard they all work - this is the spirit of the team.

"The day of the game is when we get to analyse what we've done, and we've done things right. We've been working hard, and the spirit of the team is stronger. We are focused and working hard, and playing well.

"The focus always remains on our game. It's a sign of a good team – we want to play over and over again, to improve. It's a question of how we play. We still have a long way to go - all our focus now is on QPR next week."

Jota was clattered by Sheffield United keeper Simon Moore outside the box in the closing stages and Moore was duly sent off.

Nuno said Jota was 'a bit dizzy but okay'. However he didn't criticise Moore: "The goalkeeper goes out - and remember, I was a goalkeeper - and sometimes you run out of time and you can't stop. He's a big guy and he's jumping in the air and he can't stop. There's no intention to harm Diogo at all."
