Roderick Miranda: Wolves can't relax
Wolves defender Roderick Miranda says if the players start to relax 'things will go wrong'.
The table-toppers host Preston at Molineux hoping to make it three wins on the spin and continue Wolves' excellent start.
Centre half Miranda is enjoying life at the club, helped by a strong Portuguese contingent, but has called for Wolves to retain their focus or risk losing top spot.
He said: "We are happy, not excited, because we reached the first position but it’s very hard to keep so we’ll be trying to keep the focus and the concentration instead of relaxing.
"When we relax that’s when things go wrong. We have to continue the focus.
"Every game is a different challenge, not every team wants to do high press, some like to counter attack. Preston will be a very difficult game and different from the last game, for sure.
"We have to continue with our identity."
Miranda impressed during last week's win over Villa and he said the Molineux atmosphere was the best he's experienced yet.
"I’m growing each game and the team as well," he said. "Our mentality is to try and improve every game.
"Since the first game (the atmosphere) is amazing but the last game was a very different thing. I don’t know why, maybe because of the derby. It was very, very nice."
Miranda shared a picture of himself and his family at Dudley Zoo this week. He feels it's important to get to know the local area – and that having so many fellow Portuguese players at the club has helped him settle.
"I enjoyed my trip, when we have a day off we try to know everything here," he said.
"It’s a little bit colder than a zoo in Portugal, more penguins! It’s very nice.
"If I say no (to Portuguese contingent helping) I would tell you a lie! Of course it’s easier. If you go to Portugal and there are some British people there it would be easier for you, so it’s easier to adapt and even to have some Portuguese culture.
"The pace (of English football) is higher, it’s different football, more physical. In Portugal maybe it’s more technical, more space. Here we don’t have so much space but it’s exciting and a good feeling."
