The 18-year-old netted Wolves’ third in a 4-0 win at Burton Albion on Saturday.

Vinagre, on loan from Monaco for the season, has put in a string of impressive performances under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Speaking to Portuguese paper O Jogo, he said of his goal: “Honestly, as soon as I scored I couldn’t believe it.

“It was a dream come true and I still can’t believe it’s real, it seems I’m still dreaming.”

Vinagre hadn’t made a professional appearance before joining Wolves in July.

He says having several Portuguese team-mates (there were five who joined him on the field at the Pirelli Stadium) has helped him settle in to life at Wolves.

“Having several Portuguese players in the squad has been a help,” he added. “This squad is top – not only the Portuguese players. We have a really good squad.

“’I’ve been here for three months and I’ve already learned a lot from Nuno.

“You can see he’s somebody who knows his football inside out and personally he has helped me improve a lot.

“We play every game to win – that’s the message from our coach and what we strive to do.

“Further down the line we’ll see what position we are in.

“The second tier in England is a very competitive league, there are no easy games and there’s always a great atmosphere in the stadiums.

“I’m really enjoying playing here.”
