What's your verdict on the match? I had high expectations going into the game considering how well we've played away from home so far this season, but I feel as though we struggled to get as near to those types of performances. The first half was poor from our view but second half we did get slightly better and both sides had a few chances to win the game.

I'm not going to be critical though because we've had five league games, three of which being away from home and we've got 10 points out of a possible 15. I can't really complain and it's a very positive start going into the international break. We still have Costa to come back and hopefully a couple of signings next week would top off a good start to the season.

We were slightly lucky to go into half time 0-0 I felt. Yes we had a chance from Bonatini and a couple of near chances from killer through balls, but Brentford hit the post when really they should have hit the net and Ruddy made a very smart save to stop Romaine Sawyers.

Second half we got into it a bit more and how Neal Maupay missed from about 10 yards out with the goal gaping, I'll never know. Diogo Jota was unlucky with his chance which Bentley saved and he was our star man on the day. If only Dicko was a few inches taller, we might have nicked the game in the last few minutes but against a 6ft+ defender, he didn't really have too much of a chance to nod into an empty net.

Who played well – and who didn't impress? Jota was our man of the match for me. He created and had pretty much all of our chances and looked like he could have been the difference between the two sides. Maybe should have scored his clear cut chance in the second half but Bentley did well to stick his leg out and stop it. He's so direct and has great balance, a player who can get you out of your seat by running at the opposition. Reminds me of Helder Costa massively.

I thought Vinagre did well once again, he's got so much pace and put a few decent balls into the box second half. Considering he played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday and it was his first league start of the season yesterday, he did a good job.

Defensively I don't think we did bad, couple of shaky moments but it's another clean sheet for them. I'm very confident we'll be getting a few more of those this season too.

Neves couldn't really get into the game anywhere near as much as he would have liked or had done at Derby and Hull but you can't expect him to look like a world beater every game. Saiss on the other hand was terrible though, so many overhit and stray passes, probably our worst player yesterday.

Like I mentioned earlier, it's 10 points from a possible 15 and we're into the third round of the cup so going into the international break with that, I'm sure most fans will be happy and would have taken that before the season. We have a lot of big games in September against teams we realistically need to beat if we want to be getting at least top 6.

What's your verdict on the match? A point away from home, a clean sheet and another lesson learned.

Some fans were disappointed but others – me, Watford Gaz, Big Andy and Mr Gaz Egginton were happy as this is a marathon not a sprint.

We had the better breaks but neither side created too many chances. Played five with 10 points ? That will do for me. All the best to the dangerous crisp packet Mr Edwards - fondly remembered.

Who played well – and who didn't impress? Jota again and Miranda with no one really playing badly. But £5 a pint?!

What's your verdict on the match? Ah, the refreshing return of a Wolves side disappointing expectant fans. That's what happens when you give us too much too soon Nuno old pal!

Having pretty much played three of the much-fancied sides in the division off the park before stumbling against Cardiff, the midweek win against Premier League Southampton had left some of our fans expecting to arrive at Griffin Park to steamroller winless Brentford. What actually happened was two fairly decent footballing sides went toe to toe in a scrapper than expected affair with a handful of clear cut chances between them.

Both sides had spells during the game when they were on top but neither were able to convert the chances that came their way, the most notable of which was when Neal Maupay somehow failed to connect with a ball across the six-yard box with an open goal gaping in front of him.

Wolves' best chances fell to Jota, who should have scored when played in following a mistake by Dan Bentley only to see the Brentford keeper redeem himself with a smart reaction save, and to Doherty, whose attempt from four yards out wouldn't have looked out of place six miles away at Wembley as Hull and Wigan played out the Challenge Cup Final.

There was also the hint of an opening toward the end of the game when Dicko was waiting for a ball to drop to him only to see the giant defender Andreas Bjelland leap to the rescue to head clear, before another break in injury time left us three-on-one and looking likely to score until Miranda delayed his pass for far too long and see Dicko flagged offside.

To judge the expectation levels among the Wolves faithful you only have to listen to some of the shouts from the Brook Road terracing during the game such as "this isn't good enough Wolves" or "we should be beating these".

As it stands we've picked up another hard-fought point on the road against a team who are much better than their league position suggests and have a two-week break, that will hopefully include another couple of new arrivals before the closure of the transfer window, for Nuno to work on further embedding his system and tactics into this squad.

Who played well – and who didn't impress? Vinagre was full of energy in his first league start down the left flank and made Douglas' absence easier to deal with while Boly was pretty solid at the back.

The pick of the bunch was undoubtedly Jota though. The kid must have ankles the size of tree trunks after every game with the amount of kicks he receives yet he gets back up and comes straight back for more every time. His skill, strength and direct running unsettled Brentford several times and the only disappointment was that he couldn't convert the chance that came his way in the second half.

Saiss wasn't his usual self in midfield. The compact Griffin Park pitch limited space and he frequently looked uncomfortable and rushed his passing attempts, with several landing in the crowd or hitting the roof of the stands.

Miranda looked better than he did against Cardiff and Doherty was a threat going forward but the pair of them struggled defensively and a lot of Brentford's best work came from down their flank. Bright was also below his recent standards after an early injury scare.

What's your verdict on the match? First half was a total copy of the performance against Cardiff. Brentford had clearly also worked out that if you press and put pressure on Wolves they have no answer. We were second to every ball and to be honest deserved to be behind, thankfully Brentford's finishing left a lot to be desired.

Second half saw a slight improvement, we started to play some better football and finally created some chances. At the end of the match even though we perhaps had the better chances I think a draw was a fair result.

There is definitely no need to panic (it's still only August!) and come the end of the season I think we will see it as a good point from what will be a good side in the Championship. But we do need to improve and quickly. A lot of the new players are very talented but they need far too much time on the ball....something that you do not get in the Championship.

With a few days left of the transfer window I really hope to see us bringing in some experienced championship players, for me an experienced left back would be great and a striker....no explanation needed on that one!

Who played well – and who didn't impress? Jota was brilliant, a real key player but for me Cav coming on was a game changer – he has to start next time, no question about it. Doherty's miss just about summed up his game yesterday! Didn't seem his ideal self, a very lacklustre performance.

What's your verdict on the match? How you rate our performance against Brentford depends if you are a half full or half empty person.

You can applaud the clean sheet and another point away from home or judge it as a failure to score and a missed opportunity against a winless side. By the end both sides could have won but could have lost with a mixture of missed chances and saved shots at both ends.

The expansive passing and openness of our opening three games is in the past now. Have we been sussed out? The early release to a wing back on halfway just did not happen, instead it was a short pass to Boly and we tried to move forward with the ball on the floor. Brentford pressed and we were having to make hurried passes

to sometimes marked players in our effort to retain the ball. With the opposition pressing the idea is to find the gaps and a player further up field in space. We had mixed success. Vinagre who became the first change in the league this season was the usual recipient from a Boly pass. For an 18 year old he looks to have a lot of promise.

He had lost none of the energy he showed three days ago at Southampton. Ahead of Vinagre was the one and only Jota who also looked lively and on form.

Defensively it was Vinagre that was also targeted. On the right it was Miranda who seemed to be having to defend with Doherty further upfield. Our left though was where the main attacking threats came and Vinagre was always having to deal with two players both trying to go past him into the box. With Boly more central alongside Coady we did not manage this very well.

Like Wolves, Brentford play the ball on the floor around the box and are not trying to hit a target man early or with a high ball. They also keep the ball wide on both flanks, they were doing all of this better than us most of the half.

Their chances came from these situations while ours were more on the counter attack. Ruddy made one decent diving save and they also hit the post when it looked easier to score. A ricochet fell perfectly and a pass into the net looked simple. We got away with that.

Early on Enobakhare had got behind their defence and looked dangerous but he was then fouled hard and faded from the game completely. No surprise he only played a half. The left side saw Vinagre have a hard low shot, Jota have an effort and from his through ball Bonatini had a one on one that their keeper came out quickly to stifle.

That was our best chance of the half. Jota had been marked out for plenty of physical attention. The ref missed a couple of opportunities to reach for a card when he was fouled while making good progress on goal.

With Cav coming on at the break we hoped for more in the final third. The game remained in the balance though and Brentford again had the best chance from close range that was somehow missed. We had got away with that one too.

Our driving force from the back was now Boly. He wanted to bring the ball beyond half way and get forward quicker. We failed to offer much of a threat sadly. Jota and Bonatini recycled the ball neatly and Doherty was more advanced than in the first half, but Neves and Saiss were lying too deep to suggest they would bolster the numbers in the box.

Vinagre made two excellent contributions from crosses. One had Cav heading into the side netting from beyond the far post. The other, also long, was played back and Doherty shot high when he should have hit the target.

In the closing minutes both teams had openings they could have done better with. Dicko was on and he failed to connect to a Jota pass and when we had a good break Dicko had gone offside and the chance wasted.

That completes our first 'chunk' of matches. Ten well earned points from the five games is a good platform for us to build. The squad has also won two cup games, so a record of P7 W5 D1 L1 should receive no complaints.

There has been a huge amount of change since May. More significant than the Zenga era with the integration of new players happening quickly and in a wholesale way. The 3-4-3 formation is still taking some used to on and off the pitch.

The turnover of staff has been more far reaching than any of us would have imagined.

My half-time chat centred on the disappearance of Dave Edwards from the club. He has been a good servant over many seasons under several managers. He was my player of the season last season so you can see where my allegiance lies.

Putting sentiment aside I understand others view that it is time to move on. Nuno does not see him in his formation. My response would be that, is there a Plan B that could not accommodate Edwards? Surely a player who works hard, tackles, wins headers and scores a goal every seven games could still be an asset to the squad.

He is, as far as Wales are concerned. It reminds me of the Stephen Ward situation some years ago. Many fans could not warm to the idea of him being our first choice left back. He has gone on to a higher level, gained more caps and done very well for himself since his departure.

When Saiss gets his fifth yellow, or he or Neves are injured, or either lose form, who steps in? Price or Ronan, are they both better options than Edwards? Evans has gone so is not a current alternative. With an overall concern and cry of 'where are the goals going to come from' releasing our top scoring midfielder is logic I can not subscribe to.

Who played well – and who didn't impress? Ruddy made a good save and was solid with crosses in the air. He did a couple of poor kicks, one that was intercepted 10 yards form our box could have been costly.

In defence Boly looked the best. He stood up to challenges strongly and won headers when he had to. Miranda was worked hard early on but managed to cope well enough. The game was played on the floor more than in the air and Coady looked more at ease when it was. Is he a natural in that position or is he still learning the ropes? I am still not sure to be honest. We have let in only four goals in five games so you have to say as a unit they are doing a good job.

Vinagre outshone Doherty at wing back although I am fearful when a far post cross has to be dealt with by Vinagre. Harping back to the 'good old squad days' again. Would Iorfa have done a better job had he been still available. He too has/had that enthusiasm and energy to charge forward when the opportunity arose. One for you to think about.

With so many of his mates having gone and Ofosu-Ayeh on the horizon, I wonder if Doherty just sees the writing is on the wall for him too. It is fast becoming an exclusive Nuno XI.

Saiss and Neves - neither had one of their better games. Hurried when in possession they gave the ball away more than we are used to. The tackling is there and the vision also. I do wish they would get in the box more. Of the front three, Enobakhare had an off day. He was down a long time with his injury so maybe that had a a bearing. It looked at times like he was hiding and not up to the pace of the game.

Jota and Bonatini in contrast both put in a good shift. Full of running despite getting plenty of rough treatment. Bonatini linked play up well, he makes himself available and has an eye for a pass when someone is better placed. Jota was my man of the match. He was a constant threat and always looked the most likely to score. The longer the game went on the further forward he seemed to be. He was unlucky not to score in the second half when he stretched for the ball, made contact, but the keeper blocked it without knowing much about it.

Cav played the second half and saw more of the ball than Enobakhare had. He showed promise at times but suffered from trying too hard and holding onto the ball needlessly too long. By then the defence has had time to get goal side and the chance has gone.

Dicko played the last 15 minutes. Is he the next of the old-school to leave? His output in the last 12 months has not been enough to suggest a glut of goals is just around the corner. It looks like his only role would be as a replacement late in games when we need fresh legs.
