Brentford boss Dean Smith: Wolves the best team we've played so far
Brentford boss Dean Smith says Wolves are the best the Bees have faced so far this season.
The two sides shared a point apiece at Griffin Park yesterday.
Former Walsall manager Smith said it was a point gained for his team.
"It was a fair result against the best team we've played so far," he added.
"They gave us problems and we gave them problems.
"Tactically, Wolves have got really good players, they defend with a back three with two in front of them and attack with high wing backs and a front three who can all get on the ball, turn and run and you with pace and trickery.
"We knew it was going to be tough defensively so I'm pleased to keep a clean sheet.
"There were spells when we were on top and spells when they were on top. It's a point gained. This was a real test for us."
Smith's side are in the relegation zone after a poor start. He is glad of the international break in what he believes will be a tight division this year.
"I do think it's a tighter league this season," he added. "Cardiff have got some great results and won five on the spin.
"Before this week Ipswich had won four on the spin. It's a league where anyone with a bit of momentum can certainly get in the mix.
"It was our seventh game in 22 days. The lads are ready for the break.
"Wolves looked a bit fresher than us. They had the luxury to rest all 11 players on Wednesday night at Southampton. With our injury list we had to play five or six at QPR (in the Carabao Cup) when we normally would have rested them."
