The Chinese conglomerate are considering sacking the Scot and are thought to have sourced possible successors both in England and overseas, writes Wolves correspondent Tim Spiers.

Meanwhile the current head coach is left in limbo as he awaits his fate.

Sources suggest Lambert is expecting to be sacked, in a move that has come out of the blue.

It's believed that he was told around a week ago that Fosun were undecided on his future.

Even if Wolves' owners decide to keep Lambert their relationship could be beyond repair.

Lambert has expressed his willingness to work in conjunction with agent Jorge Mendes, who Fosun will lean on for player recruitment this summer. The former Villa boss's stipulation is that players aren't signed without his approval, but he wasn't anticipating the current difference of opinion.

It's thought that dialogue between the Wolves coaching staff and Fosun was regular and positive up until recently, with Lambert believing he would be given the opportunity to build on this season.

If Lambert leaves Fosun will be searching for their fourth head coach inside just 10 months.
