Fifty-year-old Truls Mansson was first hooked on all things old gold and black when he was just nine years old.

He said: "I loved the colours and badge, children think a wolf on the badge is very cool.

"I used to watch them on TV, at the time Wolves were among the best in England and had many profile players like Kenny Hibbert and John Richards to name a few."

However it wasn't until 1993 that he first got a glimpse of Wolves in the flesh when they visited Kristianstad in Sweden on a pre-season training tour. And it was four years later in May 1997 when he made his first pilgrimage to Molineux to see Wolves play Portsmouth. He missed the first ten minutes as he was enjoying soaking up the pre-match atmosphere in the former Varisty so much.

And Wolves went on to lose 1-0. But it didn't dampen his spirits and Truls formed the Swedish Wolves Supporters Club a year later, which now boasts more than 200 members. And he has organised more than 50 trips to England to see them over the years with his favourite player being Helder Costa.

Now he has won another trip to his beloved Molineux with Swedish footballing hero, Glenn Hysén, to see Wolves play and donate £1,82- in Swedish Krona to the club.

The Express & Star announced he was in the running to become the winner of the Unibet competition last month, although Mr Mansson dismissed his chances.

Speaking at the time, the statistician, said: "Will I win 'fan of the year'? Probably not, but I am very proud to be in the final."

Now he's delighted with winning the competition and he's looking forward to his visit to the West Midlands before the end of the season.

He said: "It's fantastic. So many good candidates, I couldn't believe it.

"Everyone in Sweden knows Glenn Hysen, he is such a great personality and of course also very famous.

"He was the captain of Sweden's national team for many years, 68 caps, and he also won the league in England with Liverpool.

"It will be a pleasure to show him Wolverhampton.

"I will take him for the classic pre-drinking pub Great Western near the train station, where I will introduce him as 'a league winner with Liverpool who now will become a Wolves supporter' – well one can always hope for it."

Mr Mansson is the Chairman of the Swedish Wolves Supporters Club and boasts Sweden's former Prime Minister Ingvar Carlsson and current Swedish FA President Karl-Erik Nilsson among its hundreds of members.
