Wolves 4 Fulham 4 - player ratings

Wolves correspondent Tim Spiers rates the players after a 4-4 classic against Fulham at Molineux.

Published

Harry Burgoyne

Told he was playing just a couple of hours before kick off but the pressure of the occasion didn't phase the teenager - and if he had any nerves he didn't show them.

Made a good reaction save with the score at 0-0, the first of several impressive stops, particularly that excellent double save at 1-3 in the second half which in hindsight was a key moment.

Couldn't be blamed for any of the goals and his kicking was solid. Will be the first of many first-team appearances on this showing. Well done Harry. 8/10

Dominic Iorfa

What has happened to Dominic Iorfa? He was good going forward, particularly in the first half, but defensively he had a shocker.

Caught in no-man's land for Fulham's second goal and he made a succession of mistakes throughout the afternoon.

Hesitant and nervous. Looks to be overthinking everything. Needs to start playing on instinct and show his natural game, like he did when he first came into the team a couple of years ago. 4/10

Danny Batth

Kept calm amid the madness and helped pull Wolves together while enjoying a rugged tussle with Chris Martin.

He and Hause provided a decent rearguard at the heart of the defence. 7/10

Kortney Hause

Finally scored his first Wolves goal, at the 57th time of asking.

Distribution wasn't the best but he did a much better job of holding the line than he did on his last outing against Sheffield Wednesday. 7/10

Matt Doherty

Played a big role in Wolves' comeback, wandering into the six-yard box to make it 3-2 and then playing to Ivan Cavaleiro for the equaliser.

However the defensive side of his game left a lot to be desired. Two goals and a number of Fulham chances came from his side of the field. 6/10

David Edwards

Wasn't as effective as in recent weeks but still ended up producing that golden moment in the last minute, which was his fourth goal in five matches.

He described the feeling as the best he's ever experienced in football, ending a week in which he signed a new two-and-a-half year contract in some style. 6/10

Romain Saiss

Had very little influence on the game and struggled against Fulham's slick midfield. Withdrawn after 59 minutes. 5/10

Conor Coady

Like Edwards and Saiss he was overrun by Fulham's midfield for long spells. But helped drive the team forward in the second half and his cross led to Doherty's goal. 6/10

Helder Costa

After his heroics at QPR he was quieter here and lacked end product, but stretched the play and teed up Cavaleiro for a first half chance with a great run and cross. 6/10

Nouha Dicko

A couple of chances but that elusive goal just won't come. The goal was gaping, admittedly from a tight angle, in the first half but he scuffed his chance, as he did the header which was converted by Doherty.

Plenty of running and he made a nuisance of himself, but it's goals he desperately craves. 6/10

Ivan Cavaleiro

His best performance in a Wolves shirt. Work ethic was excellent and he tracked back to good effect, getting in a couple of great tackles.

Should have scored in the first half but he made up for his later with a sublime run and finish to make it 3-3.

A run of games is what he needs and he'll get it now. If he can consistently be the team player he was here (although it should be noted he failed miserably to stop Fredericks' cross for Fulham's first), while adding that touch of Premier League-standard quality, he will thrive. 8/10

Substitutes

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (for Saiss, 59)

Added a physical element to Wolves' front-line although it certainly wasn't the case that Wolves merely hoofed the ball to him, as Fulham's media team had rather crassly suggested on the club's Twitter account.

Beaten in the air for that last-gasp equaliser and was absolutely furious with himself.

Sixteen games without a goal for the Icelandic striker now. 6/10

Jack Price (for Coady, 87)

Too late to make an impact. N/A

Joao Teixeira (for Costa, 87)

As above. N/A

Subs not used: Flatt, Borthwick-Jackson, Saville, Enobakhare.
