Solbakken, who was in charge of Wolves for eight months before he was fired in 2013, is now in charge of FC Copenhagen and said he was relieved he did not have to look at players on Steve Morgan's iPad any moire.

But Saunders, who inherited Solbakken's squad, said: "He's not right there, everybody loves it (the Championship).

"He came into Wolves and they were sinking, they'd lost I think 70 games in four years."

Saunders told radio station TalkSport: "He was trying to steady the ship and he signed Razak (Boukari), (Bakary) Sako, (Tongo) Doumbia, (Georg) Margreitter, (Slawomir) Peszko, the Polish international, Bjorn (Sigurdarson), the big lad who plays up front for Iceland.

"He signed a load of players like that who didn't know the league.

"He tried to play like Guardiola-type football and in the Championship there is no respect – teams will not let you do that."
