Lambert took Norwich to the Premier League in 2011 before taking charge at Villa Park the following summer.

Asked about his interest in taking over at Molineux, the Scotsman replied, "As an out of work manager (you) are on the lookout for anything.

"First and foremost, you've got to be asked to go back into football and at the minute I'm enjoying what I'm doing.

"If something comes up worthwhile and I think it's a good challenge then I'll look at it."

The 47-year old was appointed by Blackburn in November 2015, but activated a release clause in his contract at the end of the season.

Lambert is currently a 25/1 shot to replace the departed Walter Zenga.
