Moxey will leave Molineux in three months, after 16 years at the club.

Wolves are already in the process of finding his replacement – a key appointment for the success of the Fosun regime.

He said of his departure: "I think I've done my bit for Wolves. My job's done, it's time for somebody else. After 16 years it's time to go out on a high and pass on this club."

Moxey was clearly delighted with both the speed of the sale and the identity of the new owners. He feels Wolves will be in great hands with Fosun at the helm.

He added: "One of the things Steve Morgan said is that, at Wolverhampton Wanderers, every single thing is in place.

"We have the management structure, the foundations, a young team, brilliant facilities, a great stadium, fantastic staff and brilliant fans in their tens of thousands.

"What the fans have always wanted – and what we have wanted – is to have an owner that has the financial capital to be able to invest heavily into the team.

"For us to attract an investment company of Fosun's size speaks volumes of the ownership of Sir Jack, Steve and everyone who works for this great football club. #

"For the last two years, Fosun has looked at numerous football clubs and decided it would take this one."
