Wolves set to miss out on Nick Powell
Midfielder Nick Powell won't be joining Wolves after a deal was called off at the 11th hour.
Powell looks set to join former loan club Wigan Athletic, despite a switch to Molineux looking to have been finalised on Monday evening.
Wolves have moved on to different targets and the cancellation of the deal suits both parties. There have been suggestions the 22-year-old failed a medical.
The ex-Manchester United player surprisingly travelled to the DW Stadium for talks today.
Powell had even started following Wolves' official Twitter account - only to unfollow the account yesterday.
With just over three weeks left until the start of the season, Wolves' squad is threadbare.
The club's hierarchy need the proposed multi-million pound Chinese takeover completed quickly, if they're not to be playing catch up when the season starts on August 6.
