As rumours continue to swirl of a potential Chinese takeover, Spiers said: "It's all the fans are talking about, and I'm sure it's all the players are talking about - it's their livelihoods and they'll be concerned about their futures.

"With all the speculation it'd be difficult for the club to deny it was happening.

"It's an awful position for (Kenny) to be in.

"It's not of the club's making - these leaks have emanated from Spain and certainly haven't' come from the club or China.

"It's really unfortunate that this has come out. It's really unfortunate for the here and now and for Kenny Jackett and his players have got to be putting up with this for the time being which is the last thing they need over their heads when they're' trying to prepare for the new season.

"How's Kenny Jackett supposed to focus on the new season, focus his squad, focus on who's playing left wing on the first day of the season.

"If this doesn't happen, and Wolves have made no signings, then we're in a bit of trouble."
