Robins boss Lee Johnson fumes at Danny Batth

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson fumed at Danny Batth for 'unsporting behaviour' after his team lost 2-1 in a dramatic Molineux finale.

Batth kicked a drop ball deep into the Bristol City half - and moments later Matt Doherty had headed home the Wolves winner.

There were angry exchanges between the two benches at full time with assistant bosses Joe Gallen of Wolves and John Pemberton of Bristol City having words.

And Johnson confronted Batth on the pitch at full time.

The Robins boss didn't hold back when speaking after the game, accusing Batth of being 'clever and unsporting'.

He said: "I am an angry man. I thought a big club like that, you don't expect them to have to resolve to unsporting behaviour.

"We had the ball. The referee stops it for an injury. We don't contest the drop ball and they kick for touch.

"The lad (Batth) said he was going to kick it back to our keeper and he smashes it out instead for a throw deep in our half and puts us under pressure.

"From the deep throw, they've won a free kick (which led to the goal). The lad has been clever and unsporting, we've been naive.

"It is very difficult to take. I'm devastated to concede in the final minute of the game."

However Wolves Kenny Jackett nonchalantly played down Johnson's angry claims, saying: "It's just splitting hairs, really."
