Video: Jackett calls for Wolves to push on
Wolves boss Kenny Jackett called for his team to push on after they finally ended their seven-game win-less run.
Two goals from unlikely hero George Saville earned Wolves a dramatic 2-1 victory over Derby County.
Saville headed the winner in the 86th minute for a result that also halted a three-match losing streak.
Jackett said: "The players responded very well against a very good team.
"We've lost three games on the trot before today and in circumstances like that quite often you then need to scrap out a draw and stop the rot. That's where you need to go first.
"There were two crucial chances towards the end, Sigurdarson hit the post and then obviously Saville's header which he converted off the bar.
"We've got one deflected away from the post and the other's gone in. I'm very pleased with that.
"Hopefully, now we can continue to build. It does put a run of three defeats behind us.
"As a side it'll be nice to be able to settle the team down and keep working and improving, which we need to do."
Saville had opened the scoring early on before Chris Martin equaliser for Derby - his third goal against Wolves this season - just before half-time.
Jackett said of the goal: "If we're looking at the goal we're in a dangerous situation with a throw and quite frankly we've mucked that one up.
"It's resulted in needing to bring a player down. But then nothing we could do with a quality free kick. It's given Derby a lifeline at 1-1.
"We need to learn from those small details. Managing a game properly is important. We have a lot of developing players, and players learning."
The Wolves boss thinks Saville gave his team balance in midfield and was pleased with the possession kept by his side.
Jackett said: "I felt we had a good base with our shape, I thought we passed the ball better. As pitches improve between now and the end of the season, I hope we can build on that.
"It'd be nice if this team could settle now, and the players on the outside raise their game and create competition.
"We're still a mid-table team. We'll only close the gap with consistency and, most importantly, a lot of hard work.
"George is a very confident lad anyway. He had a very good loan spell with Millwall in League One and come back and played several games.
"He gives us some nice balance in there."
