Aaron Collins signs for Wolves: 10 things you didn't know about the new striker

Wolves have today signed 18-year-old striker Aaron Collins from Newport County.

The youngster will join the Under 21 squad and is seen as a hot prospect for the future.

Here are eight facts you may not know about Wolves' latest signing:

1, Aaron is a big fan of rap and hip hop

2. Unable to afford the costs of travelling to training every day, Collins took a job in Malpas McDonald's, Newport.

3. But Newport Academy coach Mike Flynn later intervened and the striker was offered his first professional contract soon after.

4. Manchester United were hotly tipped to sign the youngster last October along with with Newcastle and Burnley.

5. Collins made his football league debut on 18 April 2015 as a second-half substitute in the League Two match versus Dagenham & Redbridge

6. He scored his first competitive goal for Newport on 15 August 2015 in a League Two match versus Stevenage during a 2–2 draw.

7. He successfully took part in the ice-bucket challenge in August 2014.

8. In the final week of the transfer window in August 2015, Burnley submitted two bids for Collins, the last being £65,000 plus potential future add-ons, both of which were rejected by Newport.

9. In April 2015 Collins was named in the Wales Under 19 squad for the match versus Germany on 18 April 2015 and was subsequently named in the starting line-up.
