The 53-year-old head coach has been at the helm for two years and has led the club from League One to the brink of the Championship play-offs and a host of club records.

Under Jackett, Wolves have achieved the following seasonal milestones - most points (103), most away wins (14), most league clean sheets (25), most consecutive league wins (nine) and most league victories in a season (31), all in 2013-14.

Since then he has become the quickest Wolves manager to reach 50 league victories, in just 86 matches with the 2-1 success at Nottingham Forest on April 3, while his win ratio is a hugely impressive 56.5 per cent.

Jackett has over 600 games as a manager under his belt and wants to get to 1,000 as Wolves head coach.

And double player of the year Richard Stearman believes the Molineux gaffer ranks alongside the best he has been managed by.

"He's one of the very top managers I've played for - look at what he's produced both on and off the pitch here at Wolves is an incredible achievement and credit has got to go to him," said Stearman, who played under 10 bosses at Leicester and four at Wolves.

"First and foremost his coaching, his man-management, his knowledge of the leagues are all very good.

"His stats don't lie; the amount of points he's amassed as a manager and the wins he's racked up so quickly, so the proof is in the pudding."

Stearman is convinced Jackett will lead Wolves back to the Premier League.

"He walked through the door and said he wants us to be in the Premier League and we're aiming for that and we're nearly there," said the central defender.

"We just need to continue to push on, and with the right couple of additions this summer, we can run very close next season."

The 27-year-old also credits Jackett with coaxing the best form of his career out of him.

"He's been very good for me with the performances I've put in over the last couple of years," he added.

"I couldn't be happier and that shows in the way I've played.

"It's been an incredible couple of years and I want to continue to push this club to the Premier League."
