The long-serving 27-year-old defender was the choice of the supporters and players at last night's glitzy end-of-season awards dinner before 720 guests at Telford International Centre.

Stearman saw off fellow nominees Bakary Sako and Nouha Dicko for the supporters' award, which thousands voted for online.

And he completed the set by pipping Sako and last season's double winner and only 2014-15 ever present Kevin McDonald for the players' award.

Stearman said: "I'm very honoured and privileged to receive these awards. I can't take these awards without mentioning my team-mates for their support and help on the pitch.

"I thank the management and the team who have assembled the players around me and built a team around me, where I feel I've been allowed to play to my strengths.

"I also thank the fans for sticking by me through thick and thin and I think they have seen some progress in me from boy to man."

Stearman, who has made 231 appearances for Wolves since joining from Leicester in 2008, reserved special thanks for Jackett.

The Molineux boss gave him a new lease of life after he was loaned out to Ipswich two years ago.

Stearman said: "I have to thank the manager for putting me in my best position and as a partnership, I feel myself and Danny Batth have developed a lot over the last two years.

"I maybe thought my time at Wolves was over a couple of seasons ago but, luckily, the manager wanted me around the place and hopefully I have rewarded people with my performances.

"If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be here."

Stearman is 55th on Wolves all-time appearance list and has his sights on overcoming the marker of Jody Craddock and Norman Deeley (237) who are in joint 49th place.

Jackett said: "Things have changed for Richard and, at 27, he's one of the oldest players and has taken that responsibility on which can make you a better person and a better player."

James Henry's stunning 30-yard equaliser to rescue a 2-2 draw in the dying seconds at Bolton on January 31 won Goal of the Season.

Dominic Iorfa was voted Young Professional of the Season ahead of fellow defender Kortney Hause and keeper Jon Flatt.

Central defender Regan Upton, who has been converted from a midfielder, was named Academy Player of the Season, with centre-back Aaron Hyden and goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne also nominated.

The Express & Star's Fan of the Season went to John Pappas, who has moved from the United States to Wellington in Telford to follow his beloved Wolves.
