Video: Kenny Jackett hails Wolves' victory
Wolves boss Kenny Jackett believes his players are adapting to life in the Championship following a determined display in the 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday.
They travelled to Hillsborough on the back of five straight defeats, but a goal from substitute Leon Clarke five minutes from time was enough to secure the victory and three precious points.
And Jackett was pleased with his side's display, particularly in the second after withstanding long periods of Wednesday dominance before the break.
He said: "It was a great game. I thought it was end to end and I think my back four did very well and my goalkeeper has not had much to do for an away goalkeeper.
"We worked their 'keeper in the second half and we came through some tough periods so to create a lot of clear cut chances is something we are very pleased about.
"Five straight defeats is not nice- it's tough. It eats away at confidence and you maybe go and look for a draw to stop the rot.
"Against Bournemouth and today we have put on good performances. We have put on competitive performances and I feel we have improved.
"We have got caught by some good sides on good days recently. Derby and Ipswich are good sides and coming here I said we have adjust to the division and realise what coming to places like Hillsborough is all about. I feel we did that today."
Despite the Owls missing a hatful of clear cut chances in the first-half, Wolves were unlucky not to take the lead earlier in the second half when Rajiv Van La Parra had a goal ruled out for offside.
"There was some incisiveness up front today which I am pleased about," said Jackett.
"We scored a quality goal with a one touch finish from Clarke.
"And we also had one wrongly disallowed which was on-side and I think Van La Parra has been a real handful.
"It was a tough pitch to play on, it was frozen and they are a direct side so I'm pleased we have followed up the Bournemouth game with a competitive performance."
