One rescinded, one stands on Wolves reds
Wolves winger Rajiv van La Parra's red card against Bournemouth has been overturned - but defender Matt Doherty's sending off in the same game will stand.
Van La Parra's dismissal for an aerial clash with Steve Cook turned their home game on Saturday, where Wolves were leading through Danny Graham's first-half header.
Bournemouth went on to win with strikes from Harry Arter and Matt Ritchie, before Doherty also saw red for an injury-time tackle on Brett Pitman.
Owner Steve Morgan clashed with referee Mike Jones near to the pitch after the game, too, and has been charged with insulting the official. He has until 6pm on Thursday to respond.
But an Independent Regulatory Commission today accepted van La Parra's claims of wrongful dismissal and he's free for selection in Saturday's Championship clash at Sheffield Wednesday.
But they upheld Jones' decision to dismiss Doherty, who now starts a three-match suspension which will begin with this weekend's trip.
Head coach Kenny Jackett has repeatedly made a case for both bans to be rescinded, but accepts that the second red was the more contentious.
He explained today: "I felt the first sending-off was harsh. I asked the fourth official, who is radio mic-ed up to the referee, straight away.
"The referee was saying to the fourth official, and he was telling me, that he sent him off because he led with his elbow.

"I've got to honest and say I didn't see that lead with the elbow. I thought it was head to head.
"If the referee had said it was overly aggressive, it was mis-timed, late or any of those things, then that's an interpretation.
"But I thought he got the assessment wrong. Looking at the footage afterwards, it backed up what I'm saying.
"The second one, Matt has taken the ball with his left leg and his second leg is passive. If that second leg is high, if it's part of a double-footed challenge, then it is a straight red.
"In my opinion, we have a case for both to be overturned."
