Wolves' James Henry targets League One title

James Henry today claimed Wolves have set the standard for League One to follow after their superb win at Brentford – as he targeted the title.

Wolves made it six wins in a row with their landmark 3-0 victory at Griffin Park on Saturday, ending the Bees' 19-match unbeaten run.

Henry scored the opener – his seventh goal for Wolves – before Michael Jacobs's double sealed it.

And Henry believes Wolves have put a marker down with their victory in the battle of the League One heavyweights.

"That's what we went there to do, to set the standard," said the former Millwall wideman.

"We went there wanting to take all three points and we had a gameplan and that was to try to get the first goal and then be tight and try to catch them on the break. We were fantastic and we thoroughly deserved all three points and a 3-0 win. But Leyton Orient won again and that shows how tight this league is, we can't take anything for granted.

"The key thing is not to get carried away – there is still a long way to go, 15 games, but we want to really kick-on and win the title now."

Henry admitted there was an element of fortune to his goal in time added on in the first half as his cross-cum-shot flew in the opposite side of the net to where he was aiming from Kevin McDonald's cut-back.

"I was just trying to feed it to the front post and get it on target and it flew into the far top corner, so I was delighted," said the 24-year-old.

"It got us off the mark and it really settled us down.

"After that, we really played composed football when we could and we caught them on the break with Jacobs getting another two goals.

"Goals are coming from everywhere at the moment and we need to keep that going because we need a big push now. Teams want to beat us and we want to beat them but we've got to stay composed about the way we go about our business."
