Matt Doherty continued his comeback as Wolves were beaten by a Chelsea side who came from behind to win at muddy Telford last night.

Two goals from nippy striker Islam Feruz gave Chelsea the edge and cancelled out Liam McAlinden's excellently-worked opener as Doherty played an hour.

Wolves had a let off in the fourth minute when Feruz found himself clean through but he could only toe-poke wide after keeper Jonathan Flatt narrowed the angle.

But they established an early stranglehold on the game with two chances for Eusebio Bancessi, who was again impressive.

The Portuguese winger had an effort ruled out for a marginal offside in the seventh minute after finishing with a firm left-foot drive after Kevin Foley, who started at left-back, sent him clear.

Then Bancessi cut inside onto his left foot and had keeper Mitchell Beeney fingertipping his low effort onto the post, the rebound falling out of reach of McAlinden.

After starting the better side, Wolves were good value for their 17th minute lead.

Midfielder Sam Whittall did superbly to wriggle through two challenges in Chelsea's midfield before releasing McAlinden for a first-time left-foot finish into the top corner.

But the hosts had to do some defending when Feruz turned away from George Elokobi only for Foley to come to the rescue and nip the ball off his toe on 22.

Chelsea gradually came back into the game and equalised four minutes before the break.

Feruz slid in to net an angled left-foot volley after former Albion midfielder Isaiah Brown crossed from the left.

Chelsea looked to take the game to Wolves at the start of the second half and Lewis Baker's curling free kick on 48 looked to be spinning in after a wicked deflection only for the loose ball to be scrambled away.

The winner came 20 minutes later when Feruz volleyed home in style after Jeremie Boga got to the byeline and crossed from the right.

Substitute Ibrahim Keita fired home on 81 but it was disallowed after he handled Whittall's cross when presented with a free header.

Feruz wasted the chance of his hat-trick in the last minute when he ballooned over from the spot after Tim Jakobsson brought him down from behind.
