Wolves this afternoon completed the £300,000 signing of Wigan striker Nouha Dicko as boss Kenny Jackett ruled out an immediate move for £750,000-rated Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor.

Meanwhile, as rumoured target Leon Clarke today submitted a transfer request at Coventry, Jackett denied making a bid.

Dicko has signed a two-and-a-half year deal after undergoing a medical at Compton yesterday. The 21-year-old was at Molineux on Saturday to see the 2-0 win over Preston and he held talks with chief executive Jez Moxey. Head coach Kenny Jackett is desperate to sign two strikers after losing faith with his attack.

"We haven't got that forward who threatens in behind and he is very quick off the mark.

"Everywhere he's been he's got a good goalscoring record without ever really finding a home.

"He's played against my teams on loan for Blackpool and Rotherham and we've seen him do well at Rotherham.

"A lot of clubs have approached him and hopefully he can now take the form from those loan spells and find at home at Wolves.

"He was here at the end of last season and I think he was disappointed he didn't get more of a chance.

"He only started one game as a central striker, which is his preferred position.

Frenchman Dicko scored once in a four-match loan spell at Molineux last season as a winger. But he's been successful as a striker on loan at Rotherham.

Jackett confirmed: "There are a few options – I don't think there will be numerous additions but vital ones."

Dicko, who is out of contract at the end of the season, scored nine goals in 32 games for Blackpool over two loans.

Meanwhile, sources claim Wolves have lodged a sizeable bid for attacking midfielder McGregor which is said to be under consideration at Parkhead.

The 20-year-old has made an impressive impact on loan at Notts County this season, scoring 12 goals in 27 games.

Celtic are thought to be interested in Wolves' 13-goal top scorer Leigh Griffiths but it's understood Molineux officials have rejected a loan bid from the Hoops, dampening the prospect of a swap.

McGregor's loan has ended but County boss Shaun Derry said: "There's plenty of interest in him from League One and the Championship."
