Wolves still guaranteed £16m parachute payment
Wolves are still guaranteed £16million parachute money from the Premier League next season – whichever division they are in.
They had their first £16million this season, will receive £16million in 2014-15, and £8million for each of the two following years.
But it's still a huge drop in income from the £45million they received last season for being a top-flight club.
Manager Dean Saunders, meanwhile, is confident the players will be up for the challenge at Brighton tomorrow.
Last week he urged the players to 'produce their 'A' game' and not leave anything on the pitch against Burnley.
But his plea looked to have fallen on deaf ears and the team were flat in the 2-1 defeat.
Saunders believes they can still find their best form when they need it most as they face a final battle against the drop.
He said: "I have got to make sure the players are focused and not on their holidays or have downed tools and think 'that's it.'
"What if we win 4-0 and Peterborough lose 1-0? Something like that can happen.
"If we can win and Peterborough and Barnsley lose, there will only be one or two goals in it – and those results are possible."
Saunders added: "It was only 10-14 days ago that we were top of the form league. Before we went to Charlton, we were in good form but injuries at the wrong time have killed us.
"But we beat Hull and there's no reason why we can't win at Brighton."
Saunders is waiting on Bakary Sako before deciding on the winger's level of participation.
The Wolves boss said: "He's still feeling his hamstring a bit."
