Stale Solbakken revealed that a revamp of Wolves' scouting set-up is already underway following the double defection to former boss Mick McCarthy yesterday.

Less than 24 hours after Solbakken's predecessor was installed as Ipswich's new boss, Molineux chief scout Dave Bowman and former McCarthy assistant and current European scout Ian 'Taff' Evans left Molineux by mutual consent.

But the Wolves boss revealed that he was already in the throes of a scouting overhaul and that the departures of two men so closely allied to the former boss had been anticipated.

"They've done a great job for us but their departures are not something I will panic over," said Solbakken.

"We were in the process of changing our way of scouting and although we will miss them this is not something which worries me.

"We were about to change things to make sure that we had a better view of the foreign market and also the way that we do other things.

"We are wanting to work in a more effective way in terms of match analysis and the scouting of teams and players . We will be fine."

Solbakken has already changed the key coaching positions at the club with the appointments of Patrick Weiser and Johan Lange following the exit of Terry Connor.

Now comes the chance Solbakken has been waiting for to put his own mark on both the areas on which Wolves will focus and also the type of player he wants to recruit.

He added: "This gives us the chance to put our own imprint on it. We have to make sure we are more aware of what's going on in general and in Europe."
