Terry Connor insists Wolves won't be taking their foot off the pedal despite being relegated.

Wolves go to Swansea tomorrow with little to play apart from pride.

Boss Connor said training has remained at a high intensity this week, despite the disappointment at the drop.

Fans still demand professional performances and then there is the integrity of the Premier League, with Wolves and their last three opponents all chasing merit payments which will rise by almost five per cent on last year's £756,000 per club.

Connor maintains Wolves will remain 'on blob' for the last three fixtures.

"If they were that way inclined, to take their foot off the pedal, it could be a problem, but they're not," said Connor.

"I've actually been surprised the way they've trained the last few days and the way they've handled themselves.

"It would be easy to feel sorry for yourself or drop standards but that's not been the case because that's the group of lads we have.

"We may not have been good enough to stay in the Premier League, but that doesn't mean they haven't given their best to try to do so."

Wolves could still influence the relegation race as they go to Wigan on the last day, and Connor said they will remain at full tilt.

"The games do mean something – it means something to our players and our club to play 38 competitive games," he said.

"It's also about the integrity of the Premier League. Our results could have a bearing on other teams. We owe it to them and ourselves to finish off.

"So we'll play 38 games because it means so much to other people."

Confirmation of relegation sometimes leads to an improvement in results.

But Connor also believes Wolves' recent performances could spark that anyway.

"We're just going to keep on performing like we have in the last six weeks – we want to get something out of our next three games," he said.

"If we keep performing like we have done and keep on improving the performances, hopefully we'll finish the season well and with a couple of positive results."
