Mick McCarthy has no regrets over Jerome Thomas

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today insisted he had no regrets about passing up the chance to sign Albion winger Jerome Thomas.
Thomas was on trial with Wolves as he tried to resurrect his career following a back injury following his release from Portsmouth in July 2009.
But after injuring his hamstring in a friendly against MK Dons in his only appearance for Wolves, the 27-year-old was snapped up by Albion, going on to star in their promotion and scoring nine goals in 44 games.
McCarthy has no hard feelings, however, as the former Arsenal trainee prepares to face Wolves in the Black Country derby.
"We had him here. He played at MK Dons for us in a friendly and did his hamstring and we treated him," said the boss.
"Roberto (Di Matteo) called me and said he'd like to look at him and was offering a three-year contract which we weren't.
"They were a Championship club and we were a Premier League club.
"He'd done enough for me to keep on in terms of having another look at him but he was injured.
"They were offering him a deal for three years so it was a case of him signing it.
"I don't have any regrets, it just wasn't going to happen.
"Maybe it would have been different if we'd have been in the Championship.
"It would have been nice to get another good player in but we'd got Jarvis and Kightly was fit at the time."
