'This club comes out fighting' - West Brom chief backs club's adversity response
Albion went through the wringer in the 2025/26 Championship campaign
Albion have been praised for ‘coming out fighting’ when hit with adversity across the season.
Boss James Morrison led a dramatic late race from Championship relegation and has been hailed by executive director Mark Miles for pulling the club in one direction.
Blows continued for the Baggies right up to the 11th hour of the campaign as an independent panel upheld an EFL charge of breaching financial regulations.
A two-point penalty put the club back in relegation contention before Morrison - a third head coach of the season after Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay - led the side over the line to safety.
"It's been a funny season all the way through,” said Miles. “When I came back in I spoke about two things - one the importance of togetherness.
"And two that when this club is backed into a corner it comes out fighting.
"Mozza has galvanised it all and pulled the fanbase, players, coaches all in one direction. I think that's credit to him, the coaching staff and players.
"We are proud and look forward to a bright future now.”
Long-term club chief Miles spent five months away from The Hawthorns last September when it was decided the role of managing director and club president, held by Andrew Nestor, were required.
Nestor exited the club in January and Miles returned in an executive director role.
Miles previously spent 22 years at the club.

He added of a dramatic end to the season: "It was a funny period with the PSR result out. But we knew that James and the coaching staff would deal with that.
"It is great credit and testament to them. James mentioned the togetherness, and I think that has shone through the entire period.
"We got ourselves over the line and were able to do our talking on the pitch.”
The Baggies signed off a statement with “do our talking on the pitch” in the wake of the EFL charge with two games of the season remaining.
Morrison’s men secured the point needed for survival the following day against Ipswich.
