League One away day for first confirmed West Brom friendly of the summer
The Baggies had a lively finish to the last away day at the Posh five years ago
Albion’s first confirmed friendly for the 2026/27 campaign is a trip to Peterborough United.
James Morrison’s men will tackle the London Road side on Saturday, August 1 for a 3pm kick-off.
The Cambridgeshire friendly takes place on the weekend before the new season gets under way, with action to start with the first round in the EFL Cup next term. The draw for the first round stage takes place on fixture release day on June 25.
It is the first warm-up clash to be confirmed by the club, with more to follow. Tickets details are still to be confirmed.

The Posh finished 18th in the third tier last season under Luke Williams, the former Swansea boss who was linked with The Hawthorns hotseat prior to Tony Mowbray’s appointment 18 months ago.
Albion’s last visit to Peterborough, whose home is now branded as West Homes Stadium, is the first for five years since a memorable finale in a Championship clash in August 2021.

Visiting defender Semi Ajayi converted a late winner to send the away end wild and then boss Valerien Ismael charging down the touchline in celebration.
That was Posh’s single campaign at Championship level since 2013 and the Posh finished 22nd, in the final relegation place.
They have since finished sixth and fourth, twice losing out in play-off action, before two successive finishes of 18th.
