'Emotions are really high' - James Morrison explains dugout clash after West Brom's defeat at Wolves
There was a brief coming together at full-time at Molineux.
James Morrison admitted he understands emotions were running high after a brief coming together at the end of Albion’s 1-0 defeat at Wolves.
There was an unhappy exchange at the full-time whistle at Molineux as the home side celebrated a 1-0 victory in the highly-anticipated Black Country derby.
Morrison looked to shake the hand of opposite number Cesar Peixoto, who had been celebrating with his Wolves backroom team.
The Albion boss exchanged a quiet word with the Portuguese, while pointing elsewhere, before angry Albion assistant coach Tony McMahon voiced his disapproval towards Wolves staff. Morrison revealed afterwards there was a feeling the home dugout may have celebrated in the region of the Baggies bench.
“I get it,” Morrison said. “Emotions are really high, but I felt as though one of their staff members celebrated in front of our faces.
“It might have been to the crowd, but it looked to me as though he was in our faces. That’s what it was.”
McMahon, Morrison’s long-term associate from his Middlesbrough days, went in pursuit and pointed at members of Wolves staff.
The group were then separated as Peixoto went to celebrate with the Molineux crowd.
Wolves star Fer Lopez struck a winner five minutes after half-time following a horror error from Baggies defender Nat Phillips.
